University of Portsmouth Library
About the library
The University Library is in Ravelin Park, part of the Guildhall Campus in the centre of Portsmouth. The University Library is distinctive, modern and purpose built, with an £11,000,000 extension opening in 2006. The Library is strongly service-orientated with extensive 24/7 opening hours and places much emphasis on close relations with staff and students throughout the University.
The University Library is the busiest study space within the University of Portsmouth Estate with over 1,150,000 entries through the turnstiles in each of the last three academic years: we offer a variety of learning zones to suit different learning styles. Using the NSS as a guide, student satisfaction with the space and services provided by the University Library is high and the number of free text comments gives a guide to the importance that students place on the University Library.
We house over 380,000 printed books, close to a million ebooks including the Jisc Historic collections and almost 27,000 ejournals.
The local library catalogue is available online.
