About the library
University of Essex Library services comprises 3 libraries at our Colchester, Southend and Loughton Location containing over million items including over: 740,000 print books; 350,000 e-books and; 25,000 e-journals. Overlooking the lakes and parkland at the heart of our Colchester Campus, the Albert Sloman Library is the home to our main collections and our special collections. The Forum library at Southend is a state-of-the-art public and academic library with over 150,000 public, university and college books and our library at Loughton is a dedicated library for our Acting School, East 15

Can I see live document availability on Library Hub Discover? Yes.
Can I obtain items via inter-library loan? Yes - subject to the library's local lending policy. You must request an inter-library loan via a library of which you are a member. Talk to your own library staff for advice on ordering an item.
Can I visit the library to view materials? Yes - see the library's website for access details. If you wish to visit it is advisable to contact the library in advance, to ensure that they can accommodate you and that the material you need will be available.
