About the library

Library hub discover holds details of special collections and periodicals held at Manchester Public Libraries. The special collections include many book rarities - eg the Elizabeth Gaskell Collection, DeQuincey, Coleridge, Alexander Ireland Collections, private presses, political/ religious tracts. They also include rare printed music manuscripts from the Henry Watson Music Library - eg Handel - Newman Flower Collection, Gilbert and Sullivan.

The special collections are available at 24 hour notice within the search room at Central Library, St Peter's Square, Manchester.

Can I obtain items via inter-library loan? No - this library does not participate in the inter-library lending scheme.
