Leo Baeck College Library
About the library
The Leo Baeck College Library houses one of the finest collections of Judaica in Europe. A Jewish Studies library in the widest possible sense: our collections cover every area of Judaism and Jewish life, thought and culture, including books in English, Hebrew, German, Yiddish, French and Russian, from traditional, professional and academic literature. Our Main Collection is enhanced by rare books, archival and digital material, and donations from Rabbis, teachers and scholars which makes researching in our collections an extraordinary voyage of discovery.
Our specialist areas include: Anglo-Jewry, Bible and Commentaries, Contemporary Halacha (Jewish Law), Hebrew and Aramaic, Holocaust, Interfaith Dialogue, Israel and Zionism, Jewish Culture, Jewish Education, Jewish History, Jewish Literature, Jewish Liturgy, Jewish Music, Jewish Philosophy and Thought, Pastoral Care and Management, Preaching, Progressive Jewish Movements, Rabbinic Literature including Mishnah, Talmud, Midrash and Codes, and Yiddish.
For over 65 years the Leo Baeck College has been training rabbis and educators to lead and serve progressive Jewish communities in the UK and around the world. At the heart of all the college’s teaching and learning our extraordinary library has inspired and informed four generations of leaders and scholars and we continue our work to make Jewish literature and scholarship accessible today and preserved for the future.
